I am intrigued by the material qualities of printmaking, and the conceptual reverberations of print and the discontinuous being. I am drawn to printmaking’s history as a means of distributing radical and progressive ideas. I aim to draw this deep cultural history of the medium into my work in a visual art context.
Over the last 2 years I have been using print in tandem with other media to develop a series of monotypes exploring the emotional resonance of the geology in the environment. With reverberations of the sensory, aesthetic and mnemonic qualities of the ancient rock body.
